This decision has been made following a consultation held earlier this year as part of Fisheries New Zealand’s regular review of sustainability measures.

Both the commercial and recreational catch limits have been reduced.

To help manage the new recreational catch allowance, from 15 April the recreational daily bag limit for rock lobster will reduce from 6 to 3 per fisher per day.
